This is Still Not Better Than Playing Games
Fun and adventure is the lifetime experience I never miss to enjoy every time I head down the New York City parks. With some of the top attraction sites and the top games in the world; this city is home to a number of top-notch amusement parks and playing games with a plethora of green spaces. From the lively central park, Luna park to the Great escape in the heart of Brooklyn; every minute spent is such a great resource to appreciate what nature has to offer.
Forget playing games for a while and realize that central park is a must-visit. The Tisch children zoo and central park zoo are some of the irresistible sites with over 100 different species all enclosed in their tamed-setting. More often, I enjoy the view of those monkeys and red panda species believed to be endangered and facing extinction in their natural habitats. If you love zoos so much; did you know that are some zoo video games that you can play? You can build and create your own zoo and take care of your own animals and so on… Kind of just like the real life thing.
A zoo video game
This is actively involved in housing more than enough species of all the strangest animals no one could imagine they exist. The sight of such strange animals; especially reptiles can scare any young child. It’s weird, my daughter, later that night had a weird nightmare of the thick-billed parrots flying violently towards her. Next time I will have to skip this section of the tour! I should really stop letting her watch these video games, and start teaching her how to play puzzles, or other games for kids.
Sometimes I find myself too lazy to tour the 5-acre of central park and I keep telling myself that I want to go back home, lounge in my pjs, sit on my comfy couch and play video games all day; but all I really have to do is visit the Belvedere Castle and enjoy a panoramic view of the whole park in all the possible directions. This is probably the most magical and centrally located monument in the entire Central park. Better than playing games or 8000 piece puzzles though? I don’t think so. Not one bit. But I do want to let you know that the Bethesda fountain forms one of the spectacular icons within the park; as well as its beauty has been utilized in some of the renowned movies; Godspell and Home alone II.
An escape from video games and the busy city life is one great way to enjoy the weekend.
In the heart of Lake George is the Great escape amusement park which offers various games, water rides such as the banshee plunge and alpine freefall. So, you’re not necessarily escaping games in general, which is awesome on my part. Some of the sites like the shallow pools and splashy play areas were best for my little daughter who had fun while enjoying the ocean themed pool. The park staffs were more than friendly; very professional and respectful.
My daughter at one point felt annoyed and started sobbing when I couldn’t accompany her to the climbing rope and those gymnastic swing rings. If not for the caring staffs to calm and bring her senses back, I couldn’t enjoy the rest of the tour. We headed to the roller coaster for that amazing ride and soon she was back in her usual jovial mood. I then actually forgot about playing games for a little bit there… Which is very odd. And when I do start thinking about playing games again, I get sad. Sometimes I feel like I have the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, which does run on my dad’s side of the family.. So who knows.
Adventure came one after another and soon we were headed to the Brooklyn bridge park. The Manhattan exemplary views, Jane’s Carousel and the ancient 1920 merry-go-round was much for the day. Skating is one of my longtime hobbies, after playing games and puzzles; and I was lucky to find the roller skaters’ team set for a scheduled exercise; I had the most unexpected experience as I learnt some incredible skating moves. This park had such a unique design geared for active recreation, playing games, puzzles, sporting leagues as well as sports video games, and a vast playground arena with kids games also.
The densely populated cities in the world, playing games of all kinds, what a dream.
Plus, some of the parks were not that good enough to have an outdoor family reunion playing games for fun; I was in for that sprawling garden we could stroll with less of a safety hassle.
was the Fort Tryon Park, my wife found this one of the best place to have a stroll in and out of the city; and here I am, enjoying my time with my family; but missing my video games.. It overlooks the Hudson River and holds one of the highest points in Manhattan. The once densely forested side of Manhattan was tamed by Fredrick Olmstead Jr. (Son of renowned, designer of central park) and now stands one of the main attractions in New York. The shaded promenades create a genteel retreat with wooded groves and 8 miles of trekking paths. My daughter enjoyed less of this place just because we had the least of her expectation; to her, Fort Tryon Park was the worst one.
My camera had to record most of the panoramic views; from the sweeping vistas of Hudson River to the rising palisades of New Jersey. We had a great lunch and later some drinks in the New Leaf Restaurant. This was much for a fun day and we had the best of times. Although, even though these places were so beautiful and so much fun; I personally would rather be playing games… This is proof that I am addicted. And I might need help she says.
